Motivation of the Day (Personal Addition #7)
Today's "Motivation of the Day" comes in the form of something I use for my own personal motivation. When I am searching for motivation to do a workout, go train or even do homework I think of the people that are better than me at that specific thing. Playing basketball I think of other people that are my age that are better than me or I have to become better than. While I workout, I stare at the juiceheads that are super jacked because one day I want to be half as big as them. While doing homework I thinnk of Steven Hawking because he has knowledge that I wish to obtain. My motivation for you is to think of people or things that are better than you because it will help you achieve that level.

The first comment I posted was on Vince's blog. I commented on Vince's blog because I hate the Knicks. It was a very hate-filled comment because I have no tolerance for that team. I nearly just puked thinking about them playing. Vince, you're a fool.
The second comment I posted was on Nathalie's blog. I commented on her blog because I saw her speaking of graduation and I remembered that she is only in grade 11. I don't even think about it yet because my day-to-day life is enough thinking for me. I just thought I should tell her to live in the moment!
The third and last comment I posted was on Bella's blog. I commented on Bella's blog because I saw some crazy foot artwork. Then I realized that she had just drawn on herself and it kind of creeped me out. I get all goofy when I accidentally get a pen mark on my hand or there is a piece of hair on my pants. I just had to say something to her about it!
Commenting on other's blogs is kind of fun. You see some stuff that you didn't know people were into. It is also neat receiving comments on your own blog because it makes you feel special. I didn't know I would get a comment from the boss Hugh Wichenko, it was sweet. I'll leave on that note, seee ya.

Reading Reflection #6
Book: I Hope They Serve a Beer in Hell
Author: Tucker Max
Pages Read: 210 - 225
My favorite part about this book is that I can start reading basically anywhere. I don't have to read pages consecutively, I just have to start at the beginning of one of his stories. How did this guy go from being a graduate student to becoming an author and movie star? Especially when his book and movie is purely about living the life of a rich party boy. I'm still all over the prediction that this guy is going to get his ass kicked. No one does what this guy doesn without getting beaten up once in a while. That prediction hasn't happened yet but he has drunk danced with himself and the club even thought he thought he was dancing with the love of his life (hahahahahaha.) I would definitely be concerned about Tucker's well being if I was one of his friends. This guy gets drunk more days than not. Your liver can't take that type of beating. That's a heavyweight boxer punching your liver. I struggle to come up with things to write in these reflections. Anyone want to give me some tips? I guess I'll finish my reflection off with that. Help a brother out. Seeee ya.

Motivation of the Day (Personal Addition #6)
Here is part 2 of today's Motivation of the Day.
This picture probably means nothing to most of you and right now, it really means nothing to me as well. The motivation isn't from the picture, the motivation comes from the idea of setting goals for yourself. I found it really odd that many people that have been successful in life read out their short term and long term goals to themselves everyday. I heard a story about current NBA rookie Tristan Thompson. His story was that he wrote is goals on his bathroom mirror so every morning he would get up and see them right in front of his face. Every morning, he knew exactly what he wanted to achieve. If that isn't motivation, I don't know what is. Having these goals in front of you everyday reminds you that you cannot cheat yourself. (Yes, I have a paper that I look at every morning that has my short term and long term goals on it.)

Motivation of the Day (Personal Addition #5)
Okay so who thought I was actually going to put one out every day? Not me. I'm back at it though and I think I'll put 2 motivational posts out today just for misleading you guys. This Motivation of the Day is a quote that I found on Twitter a few days ago. This was tweeted but not originally said by @AlanStein, a world class basketball trainer and motivational speaker. The quote is "It serves no purpose to wish for what you don't have. Instead use that energy to take action and get what you want." This quote is basically telling you to make it happen. You're going to have a greater chance of getting what you want if you put in the work instead of just sitting around and wishing.
Reading Reflection #5
Book: I Hope They Serve a Beer in Hell
Author: Tucker Max
Pages Read: 105 - 127
The way this book is written is perfect for me to read. It is written in short events so you don't have to have a long attention span to read. You can read a story that is 7 pages long then put the book down or you can read several stories that equal 50 pages long, it doesn't matter but you're still getting something done! The friday reading classes are going pretty well but it is very easy to put my book down after 20 minutes and not pick it back up. As you can tell, my mind wonders often. I'm not being as productive as I could be but I am getting some things done. Reading isn't my specialty. I'm definitely not reading more at home. My sanctuary is the gym and I'd rather spend every free minute I have there instead of reading for 20 minutes at home. My reading habits really haven't changed over the semester. The only thing that has changed from the beginning of the semester to now is the fact that I actually need to read to get this credit. At least I chose a book that somewhat grabs my attention because it is about real things. People go out, party and do stupid stuff, which is exactly what this book is about. I can't imagine what would have happened if I chose some stupid fiction mythical book. I recommend this book to anyone who feels like they are being forced to read because it is probably right up your alley. On to the next one, seee ya!

Writing Reflection #5
I'm in the middle of color coding my "Moment." It is going alright I suppose but it's really not something I am interested in. I have to do it though because it is part of this whole catching up in class kind of thing. Anyway, I would really like to explore Twitter as another form of social media. Well, I already have Twitter and I use it daily but I think some people in the class need to give it a chance. I basically don't use Facebook at all anymore because Twitter has grasped my whole attention. Being able to know what my favorite basketball players are doing is probably the coolest thing social media has brought to me. Especially when they're tweeting about working out or getting in the gym. Twitter also allows you to know the recent happenings in almost any interest area you have. Five minutes after something has happen in the 'celebrity world,' you'll hear about it on Twitter. It's nice to know what's going on. I think everyone should be utilizing Twitter because Facebook is shitttttttty. I'm going to go tweet, seeeee ya!

Book: I Hope They Serve a Beer in Hell
Author: Tucker Max
Pages Read: 52 - 78
Making predictions for this book is the wrong thing to do because you never ever know what is going to happen enxt. Tucker Max leads the most outrageous and unpredictable life. One minute he is drinking with his buddies trying to pick up girls, the next minute he is at a gay bar. I have definitely noticed that he writes with a very wide vocabulary but writes the book as if he were talking to his friends. The book is written like he is at a party telling stories. Every now and then I come across a word that I have no clue what it means. I assume this is because the man is a Duke graduate and I am a grade 12 student but it is obvious that he is very well educated. I really connected with the book when Max spoke about always having the urge to make fun of people at parties or social events. I always feel like making fun of guys that are just making goofs of themselves trying to pick up women. I also feel the need to make fun of girls when they are acting a little 'slutty,' trying to pick up a male's attention. If you ever sit back at a party and observe people, I know you would feel the need to do the same. I am starting to see a few of my own personality traits in the character of Tucker Max. I am curious to see if more develop as I continue reading. Finished another reflection, seee yaaa.

Motivation of the Day (Personal Addition #4)
It's time for today's "Motivation of the Day." Today's motivation is going to come in the form of a youtube link about two basketball players working out. I've watched this video a dozen times and it never gets old. The two players are Lebron James and the player from the last post, Kevin Durant. Any time I need to get hyped up for a workout or practice I take a peak at this video. It's my dream to be able to have guys help me workout and do this sort of thing everyday.

Writing Reflection #4
My moment story has been going alright. It was tough for me to choose something to write about because I don't think certain events or memories stick into my mind like they would into someone else's mind. I remember things perfectly, they just don't effect me as much. Solitary confinement was much needed because I actually got some work done but I highly doubt real solitary confinement is as satisfying as mine was. As for my blog, I just wish I could keep it up to date. For some reason it is very easy to ignore the fact that I have to post something. I should probably put something interesting along the side of my blog as well just to make it a bit more attention grabbing. Anyways, I'm done for the day, seeee ya.
Reading Reflection #3
I think I want to be Tucker Max when I'm older. This guy lives the life that most men probably dream of AND he is ridiculously smart. If he was also a professional basketball player then he would be my idol, but no one's perfect. I find it hard to come up with reading reflections for this book because it is more of many seperate stories rather than a book with one story line. I would've already chosen a different book so it would be easier to write these but I can't concentrate on a real book. As you can tell, reading is not my best asset. I am curious to know why Tucker Max sleeps with so many women though. I have always wondered if the whole "being an asshole gets you women" thing is true and this guy definitely makes it seem that way. Maybe I should start this and see what happens, what do you guys think? I can't really make predictions about this book because one story is completely different fron another and each one is so outrageous that I never know what is about to happen next. At some point in this book I predict that Tucker Max is going to get his ass kicked. Its inevitable if you walk around talking and acting the way he does. I have nothing wrong with what he does, I just wouldn't act that way for the sake of living to see another day. Onto the next post, seeeeee ya!
Reading Reflection #2
The book I am reading is actually quite funny but I won't get into much detail about the book because it is highly inappropriate. This book is full of short stories and events about Tucker Max' life instead of one big run on story. I kind of wonder how someone so smart like Tucker Max (Duke graduate) can be such an asshole? All he ever does drink, insult people and pursue women. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with it, just a question. I also wonder how he has so many friends? All of his stories include him going to parties or bars with different friends. Apparently being a jerk to people and an asshole to women gives you plenty of friends. I do really like the way he describes every single disgusting detail in his stories. Some of the details are a little too much but I'd rather have a ton of details than none at all. I predict that this book will continue to be hilarious and interesting. I find it funny how the most inappropriate and just morally wrong books are the only type of literature I can actually read. Anyway, I have to continue catching up on my blog, seeee ya.
Motivation of the Day (Personal Addition #3)
Todays's "Motivation of the Day" is a picture of one of my favorite ball players, Kevin Durant. Durant is a self made superstar that works countless hours for his success. The quote on the picture is probably something he has done thousands of times in order to get what he wants.

Motivation of the Day (Personal Addition #2)
Today is going to be the first "Motivation of the Day" and it will be a quote from my favorite movie, Coach Carter. This quote comes from Timo Cruz and is a huge part of the stuff I use to motivate me.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Personal Addition Numba One
Since I haven't really been doing a good job of keeping my blog up to date I've decided to start an "Motivation of the Day." It will be a meaningful but also easy way to keep up with my personal additions. The Motivation of the Day can come in any form such as quotes, videos, pictures and anything else. I hope that my little bit of motivation every day can inspire my followers to work towards something great.

Writing Reflection #2
This second writing reflection is going to be about the process of creating six word memoirs. I didn't really enjoy the writing style because I usually take longer to get my point across. Six words was definitely not long enough for me to say what I wanted. I thought it was difficult to come up with something that was honest because I don't feel that strongly about things. In six words I had to lie and make something up for it to be a good six word memoir. I wouldn't choose this writing style again because it is tough to come up with real stuff but at least it was short. Seeeeee yaaa.

Six Word Memoir 4
I used this as a six word memoir because I feel as though I am too young to love. I have never experienced those feelings before. Photo Credit: luv clouds by solidground on Flickr
Six Word Memoir 3
I chose this as my six word memoir because I feel like the monkey in this picture. I am a care-free person. I don't understand why everyone is such a drama queen these days. Just live your life.

Six Word Memoir x2
I have always thought that people think I am a bit of a loser. I sing and dance as I walk down the halls because I like to do my own thing. I am much cooler than that I just don't give a flying testicle what people think about me.
